Home / Investment / Philipponnat
Philipponnat's collector identity is anchored by Clos des Goisses, a rare vineyard-defined Champagne with a much tighter supply profile than the house's non-vintage wines. The Philipponnat family traces its Champagne roots to 1522, when Apvril le Philipponnat owned vines at Le Léon near Aÿ, building on centuries of family involvement before the modern Champagne house was established in the early twentieth century.

The centrepiece is the 5.83-hectare Clos des Goisses at Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, a steep south-facing walled vineyard. Philipponnat also owns historic parcels such as Le Léon, La Rémissonne and Les Cintres, which are used for limited single-plot wines in exceptional years.

The Philipponnat family traces its Champagne roots to 1522, when Apvril le Philipponnat owned vines at Le Léon near Aÿ. The modern Champagne house was established in the early twentieth century, building on centuries of family involvement in the region.
Philipponnat acquired Clos des Goisses in the twentieth century and turned it into one of Champagne's earliest serious parcel-specific wines. The house later developed the 1522 cuvées and a small group of single-plot releases that explicitly connect present production with its historic vineyard holdings.
