Home / Investment / Domaine Georges Roumier
Domaine Georges Roumier's investment appeal is driven by a rare combination of tiny production and ownership in some of Chambolle-Musigny's most desirable climats. Georges Roumier established the domaine in 1924 after marriage brought him access to important family vineyards, becoming one of the early Burgundy growers to bottle at the domaine rather than relying entirely on négociants. Musigny and Les Amoureuses are exceptionally scarce today, while Bonnes-Mares provides a somewhat broader market.

The domaine now farms a little over 12 hectares, centred on Chambolle-Musigny with additional Grand Cru holdings. Key sites include Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Les Amoureuses and Clos de la Bussière, while some vines in Musigny and Les Amoureuses are close to a century old.

Georges Roumier established the domaine in Chambolle-Musigny in 1924 after marriage brought him access to important family vineyards. He was among the Burgundy growers who moved early toward bottling at the domaine rather than relying entirely on négociants.
Jean-Marie Roumier took over officially in 1961, and Christophe Roumier joined two decades later after studying oenology. From the 1983 vintage the domaine bottled its entire harvest, and Christophe has led the estate since 1990 while gradually increasing direct control of previously leased parcels.
